BOOK HERE

Looking for a new challenge this summer? Want to explore a distinctive landscape of towering sea-cliffs and white-sand beaches? Be the first to experience our limited-release Light Keepers walk situated within the rugged and remote Kangaroo Island.

Nestled into the Flinders Chase National Park, you will find the Kangaroo Island Wilderness Trail. From the moment you walk onto the trail, enjoy the tranquil remoteness of Kangaroo Island. Take all the worry away with our chef-inspired meals derived from locally-sourced food and paired with boutique wine and beer. Relish the home-comforts of hot showers and comfy beds, all from within the newly restored Cape du Couedic lighthouse cottages – A historical staple of Kangaroo Island Accommodation.

Day One:

On day one, we waste no time getting you to Kangaroo Island and straight onto the track. Today we explore the diverse landscape of the Black Swamp Hiking Trail. Looking out for platypus and local birdlife as we trail along the picturesque Rocky River, getting to know your fellow walkers and guides along the way.

After our inland adventure, we will head to the coast, getting a first glimpse at the historic Cape du Couedic Lighthouse and your home for the next three nights. Start to get used to the feeling of being ‘unplugged’ and take a stroll along the coast, letting the fresh ocean-air revitalize you while our guides prepare for the night ahead. Settle into a locally sourced dinner, sharing wine and stories around our communal pavilion and getting ready for the rewarding walking days to come.

Day Two

On day two, we will be heading to Snake Lagoon, weaving through eucalypt forests and low-lying swamp land before coming back out to the coast onto a 5km stretch of Maupertuis Bay Beach, learning about the rich naval and shipwreck history of the area along the way. Keeping the lighthouse in our eyeline, we will slowly make our way back where another great night awaits, full of the spoils of local produce, great company and even a hot shower to reset for the challenging day ahead.

Day Three

We hope the last two days of walking have warmed you up, as the 16km’s of day three promise spectacular views in exchange for a long-haul journey. Starting at the cottages, our guides will take you back along the coast to the iconic granite formations of the Remarkable Rocks. After a pit-stop for a packed lunch, we will power on for an afternoon hiking the coastal cliffs from Sanderson’s Bay to Hanson’s Bay beach. Tonight, we head back to the cottages for some well-deserved R&R, retiring for one last evening together, shared over local wine, beer, cheese and seafood.

Day Four:

And just like that it’s the last day on the iconic Kangaroo Island, we’ll kick off at Kelly Hill Caves winding through varying terrains spotting wildlife along the way. Reaching Hanson Bay for a refreshing swim never gets old, take off your hiking boots and ground yourself in the sand underfoot before the last pit stop of the adventure. If you feel like you want to continue exploring stay a while longer we’ll say goodbye at celebratory drinks at Kangaroo Island Spirits. The rest of us will start the venture back to Adelaide. Back to reality with some sore muscles, a sense of achievement and whole lot of great memories.

Until you need to walk again....
