Sydney family of 5, with 3 teens.

Despite all our worries going in, our teens immediately accepted and leapt into their new reality of walking everyday, backpacks, cabins and the challenges of the Tasmanian wilderness.

No wifi, no data and no digital interruptions. And incredibly - no moaning, even on the worst weather days - snow, sleet, hail and gale-force freezing winds.

The teens were blazing the trail at the front everyday, with one of our wonderful guides helping them to spot snakes and other wildlife, and swim in pristine alpine lakes.

While we maintained our own pace at the back aided by the other wonderful guide to relish the echidnas, wallabies, pademelons, wombats, and multiple types of birds and wild plants. And incredible scenery.

Everything was taken care of, everything was comfortable and tasty, everything we did was safe. All we had to do was walk - and enjoy.

The teens bonded immediately with the guides. The guides even went the extra mile to tailor lunches to fussy teen tastes to make sure they all ate enough.

We’re already planning our next family, multi-day, guided walking holiday somewhere in Australia’s wilds.

The teens would like to do the full Overland again - just the Expedition version in winter!
