Unique Accommodation
The Kangaroo Island Lodge Walk features the only private accommodation located wholly within the Flinders Chase National Park along the Kangaroo Island Wilderness Trail.

Night One: Sandy Creek Eco Lodge
Tonight, tuck into your own architect-designed eco-pod devised by Troppo Architects, a highly acclaimed local South Australian-based firm celebrated for their sustainable and innovative approach. Carefully sited within the natural vegetation, your pod slides wide open to connect you with this awesome place. They feature timber finishes, modern lines, crisp linen and mood lighting beneath patterned ceilings. But first - a hot outdoor rainwater shower beckons.
The Longhouse is our main gathering hub, designed to open and close to the weather. Fringed by low lying verandahs, providing an intimate connection with the surrounding landscape and ideal for a Kangaroo Island gin as the sun sinks,. Take in the views over the wild Southern Ocean and after dinner, settle in by the Longhouse fire.
Night Two: Cape du Couedic Lighthouse Keeper's Cottages
This evening, drift off to the whispers of early lighthouse keepers. Three heritage listed cottages have been sensitively restored, featuring new bathrooms and furnishings. Dating back to 1907, each cottage is made from locally sourced hand-carved limestone. The twin-share rooms are a welcome retreat, atop the headland, and appointed with the work of Kangaroo Island artisans.
At this location, we have The Commons - a communal space for unwinding and dining around the shared table. This open pavilion is the heart of tonight's Village Square locale, where your guides and host busy themselves preparing a barbeque banquet. Later, retire to your cosy Cape du Couedic lighthouse keeper's cottage.
Night Three: Sanderson Bay Eco Lodge
Our final night is spent nestled into an existing dune at Sanderson Bay. Similar to night one, retreat to your familiar pod-style room, this time clustered together, rising and falling with the dune topography, perched above melaleucas that fade into a long distance. This minimises our footprint on the soft dune country whilst drawing us closer together. Small details such as your door handle have a local touch, fashioned from reclaimed locally sourced timbers. Within, interior tones reflect the yellow warmth of the sand and deep greens of the melaleuca landscape beyond.
Settled between dune hillocks is a communal Longhouse. Its roof lifts gently to catch the northern sun and views open up across the wild coast. Lounge on the verandah to the tune of surf breaking against the cove below. In these closer quarters, tonight is about community and sharing our final eve as new friends.
